FedEx to build new express center in Guangzhou
As part of a long-term expansion plan, FedEx will build a new express center at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
The company has signed an agreement with Guangdong Airport Authority Logistics to build a 41,000-square-meter facility that will more than double the size of the current airport entrance.
The facility, which will open in 2027, will connect exports from customers in southern China to FedEx’s international logistics network via an Asia-Pacific hub.
“It can sort up to 25,000 packages and documents per hour, three times the rate of existing facilities,” the company said.
China is an integral part of our regional and global network. Our investment in our South China operations center will support our long-term growth in this region of great economic potential.
Guangzhou is located in the Greater Bay Area of the Pearl River Delta, which includes Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
The Asia-Pacific region is actively taking steps to integrate with a blueprint that will further strengthen its position as a global economic powerhouse.
The FedEx Asia Pacific Center in Baiyun, Guangzhou, connects Asian customers to FedEx’s US and North American networks via Anchorage and Memphis, and to European networks via Paris and Cologne.
Currently, the FedEx Asia Pacific hub operates more than 210 weekly flights.
